Privacy policy

The checker itself: nothing leaves your browser
The questions on our homepage run entirely as JavaScript inside your own browser. Your answers are used to decide which result cards to show you on that same page, and then they're gone — we don't send them to a server, we don't store them in a database, and we don't save them in cookies or local storage. Reload the page and the checker starts fresh, because there's nothing of yours left anywhere to remember.
We don't ask for your name, date of birth, National Insurance number, or any other personal or financial details anywhere on this site. When you click through to check something properly (for example, finding your Child Trust Fund), you'll be taken to the relevant official service — gov.uk, NS&I, the Civil Aviation Authority, or similar — and any details you enter there are covered by their own privacy policy, not ours.
Cookies and Google AdSense
This site is free to use and is supported by advertising through Google AdSense. AdSense and its partners may set cookies or use similar technologies in your browser to show ads, measure how well they perform, and in some cases to personalise the ads you see based on your browsing activity across different sites.
You can control or clear these cookies through your browser settings at any time, and Google provides its own controls for ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com. For more detail on how Google uses data from sites that use its services, see Google's "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services" page.
Where required under UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), we rely on your consent for any non-essential cookies, and you'll be asked to confirm your preferences on your first visit.
Analytics
We may use simple, privacy-respecting analytics to understand roughly how many people visit the site and which pages are useful, without identifying you individually. This is separate from the checker's own logic, which — as above — never transmits your answers anywhere.
Your rights
Because we don't collect or store personal data from the checker itself, there's generally nothing of yours for us to access, correct or delete on request. If you've contacted us directly by email, we'll only use that to reply to you, and you can ask us to delete that correspondence at any time — see our contact page.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be reflected clearly here rather than buried in small print.
